“Allegro” is a cheerful work. Roberta wished to recreate some of her signature works on a bigger scale, therefore she used a larger calligraphy brush in looser and rougher strokes to highlight the intuitive and spontaneous element in her symbols-based work and, because of her love for the color grey in different shades, with the use of a pigment fine-liner she filled in most of the blank space with her little symbols that are so defining in her style. The title stands to represent a joyful process, where Roberta happily and quite lively completed this piece. This piece came to life very naturally and spontaneously. The hidden complexity and its apparent simplicity are quite striking.
