In the work above, Roberta takes on yet another journey full of contrasts, between bold strokes that are liberating and free, balanced out by a fulfilling performance commanded by a myriad of symbols, dots and lines painted with a calligraphy brush and ink, which cover the entire paper, only surpassed in complexity by the symbols that the artist overlapped on a few of the bolder strokes. In her search for the next challenge and her need to fill each and every space – as if she’s feeding her artistic soul with positivity and contentment, Roberta keeps pushing her boundaries, discovering new ways she and her artistry can evolve. In her desire for balance she added dot work to some of the strokes all in an attempt to create grey scales and minimize the colour contrast, in a way, restoring the work’s equilibrium.
